ALMAZARA AS PONTIS IS RECOGNIZED AS THE BEST MILL FACTORY FROM SPAIN 2017

Spanish Association of Municipalities of the Olive Tree (AEMO) recognizes to mill factory located in Eljas, (Sierra de Gata Cultural Park) from Spain, the Best Mill Factory from Spain at yearly AEMO Awards.

Expoliva Trade Fair (Jaén, Andalucia) was chosen for presenting the 14th AEMO Awards at Best Mill Factory from Spain 2017. Jury’s decision has given the FIRST AWARD AT BEST MILL FACTORY FROM SPAIN 2017 for Almazara As Pontis-Agropecuaria Carrasco, SL.

On a press release, AEMO’s jury, el jurado de los premios highlights:

“It is exceptionally appreciated the tidy and up-to-date facilities of this innovative mill factory from Cáceres, as well as the non-conformism of team, who adds new, emerging and innovating technologies for producing extra virgin olive oil. Furthermore, jury values the conscentious management of times and temperatures, the total cleanliness in the mill and the detailed knwoledge of production process. Everything is protected by an absolute obsession of extracting the maximum possible quality of that exclusive and different olive variety which is Manzanilla Cacereña”.

On the other hand, judge also keep in mind the qualiyt of extra virgin olive oil Vieiru, produced with Manzanilla Cacereña and certified by Protected Designation of Origin Gata-Hurdes . Jury’s verdict notes the evoo like an “olive juice with an intense fruitness of green and ripe olives, with touchs of banana and red berries wrapped in vegetable aromas which remind green tomato and aromatic herbs. In mouth, olive oil resulted with marked personality, coming into very sweet, soft and subtle, and presenting a harmonious and well-balanced pungent and bitter with a pleasant persistence. EVOO very complex as a whole”.

With this award, our olive farmers from Sierra de Gata who take care of Manzanilla Cacereña olives for whole year, our customers, our suppliers and careful production process is recognized the effort done every year in order to try making the best way, to improve every year and the firm commitment for the traditional Manzanilla Cacereña olive grove of Sierra de Gata from the beginning. Adding “this important award gives us a boost for continuing and improving the work done”.

Vieiru Ecológico D.O.P. “Gata-Hurdes” Top 10 de los Mejores Aceites de Oliva Virgen Extra del Mundo

El aceite de oliva virgen extra Vieiru Ecológico amparado por la denominación de origen protegida Gata-Hurdes incluido en el TOP 10 del ranking general y en el 4º puesto del ranking ecológico por el World’s Best Olive Oils.

Un año más se ha dado a conocer el ranking World’s Best Olive Oils de la campaña 2015-2016 que incluye los mejores aceites de oliva vírgenes extra del mundo. Este ranking es elaborado por el prestigioso catador alemán Heiko Schmidt y es considerado como el más fiable y acreditado de los existentes, ya que es elaborado con puntuaciones de los concursos internacionales más importantes a nivel mundial. En esta edición se han valorado 14 competiciones, entre las se encuentran los premios Mario Solinas, Olive Japan, Oil China, Biol o Los Ángeles International EOOC. Además, este año se han incorporado dos nuevos concursos Evooleum y Athena IOOC.

La almazara extremeña As Pontis (Agropecuaria Carrasco, S.L.), situada en la pequeña localidad de Eljas (Sierra de Gata-Cáceres), viene a corroborar su gran año de resultados mejorando la posición conseguida en la edición anterior. Su producto estrella, Vieiru Ecológico D.O.P Gata-Hurdes es incluido en el TOP 10 de los mejores aoves del mundo en la clasicación general (Top 20 en la edición anterior) y mejora su

 

 

posición en el ranking de vírgenes extra procedentes de agricultura ecológica con un CUARTO puesto (5ª posición en la edición anterior). El 100% Manzanilla Cacereña de la almazara serragatina se cuela como único virgen extra extremeño dentro del TOP 50, donde 37 de ellos son españoles, 6 italianos y el resto procedentes de países como Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay o Grecia.

Vieiru Ecológico D.O.P. Gata-Hurdes, elaborado exclusivamente con aceitunas de la variedad autóctona Manzanilla Cacereña, suma una puntuación total de 104 puntos, a través de los premios conseguidos a lo largo del año. Entre ellos:

–        Los Ángeles International EVOOC (EE.UU.): Medalla de Plata (monovarietal sur de España).

–        Olive Japan (Japón): Medalla de Oro.

–        Ovibeja (Portugal): Mención de Honor.

–        Oil China (China): Medalla de Bronce.

–        Evooleum (España): 94/100.

–        Athena IOOC (Grecia): Medalla de Plata.

–        BIOL (Italia): Medalla de Oro.

–        L’Orciolo d’Oro (Italia): Distinción.

Junto con estos galardones, los aceites de oliva vírgenes extra de As Pontis llevan logrados un total de 39 reconocimientos en lo que va de año.

 Almazara “As Pontis” is recognized with two new awards for two extra virgin olive oils were submitted to fourth edition. GRAN ORO for extra virgin olive oil 100% Manzanilla Cacereña “Vieiru” from conventional production, and ORO (Gold Medal) for organic extra virgin olive oil “Vieiru”, from the single variety manzanilla cacereña.

Two new awards more that add 12 recognitions to quality of extra virgin olive oil 100% Manzanilla Cacereña produced by Almazara “As Pontis” at Harvest 2013-2014. Our “liquid gold” has been recently recognized with two gold awards at international competitions NYIOOC from New York, which rewards to best evoos from around the world, and EcoTrama from Córdoba (Spain), which recognizes to best organic extra virgin olive oils in the world.
